OR

The Rolling Stones said it best:
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes, well you might find
You get what you need
Never thought I would use Mick to state a point, but that nails it. It is a humans want or apparent need that is the hill.
The sun also rises, explains it good. That is Ecclesiastes.
That quote is B)
People are never happy with what they have, so they search for better fields of grass to lay the weary head down.
Rather ironic.

Have you ever noticed that the grass is always greener over a septic field line?
It may be greener on the other side but it has to be cut more often.

Neither...in a way. I've always heard it interpreted that what others have may seem better than what you have, but it isn't once you step in their shoes.

We will incorrectly think that what we have is not good enough.
We often covet something someone else has.
Yes be greatful for what you have

it means that you will always find something in someone that is better than yours but without really appreciating what you really have

example:your friend has the girfriend or boyfriend that you wanted.... but look.... you have that flatscreen tv on your wall
