These are some opensource software I've installed in my PC, and I used them:

Office: OpenOffice
Drawing: Inkscape
Photo Editing: GIMP
3D Modelling: Blender (I never use this one, just install it on my PC)
Audio Editing: Audacity
Multimedia player: VLC Player
Anti Virus: Clamwin antivirus
Spyware remover: Spybot S&D
Instant Messaging: GAIM

Open Source Software is free to using to anyone and for any purpose as Linux, Libre Office etc. Thses softwares can be changed or modifications by any one called addons or plugins. Any person can be used without pay any amount value. Here find some list of Open Source software:

Geewhiz the list would be superhumongous!!! Go to sourceforge.org for the "capitol city" of opensource. For a list and descriptions of alot of it, try to get your hands on the February 20 issue of PC Magazine! One important one is OpenOffice (Microsoft Office alternative). Another is Clam (antivirus). Another of course is Firefox. Another is Gimp (graphics software).
