Absolutely. I have been in a relationship for the past 3 years and ended it because of no other reason than I wanted to discover who I was and have some space.

Sure I like relationships too, but I don't like to have to ask permission or consider anyone else if I want to go walking in the hills or out on my motorbike or call into the pub for a beer afterwork. I sound selfish I know, but "cest la vie"! I can live with myself.

you can be with someone and still maintain your freedom. unless you mean like sexual freedom or something like that. thats what dating is for girl! maybe you meet a guy AND TAKE YOUR TIME!! i know that's not heard of this day and age - believe me i know, i had a baby within 6 months of dating a guy - but with the opportunities available to you out there you'd be robbing yourself by committing to someone with whom you'd know would place restrictions on you. just try dating out for a bit and see how that works for you ... you may find someone you'd be willing to give up that freedom for someday:)

It is actually quiet normal. WHen one is by themselves they enjoy the freedom to do what and when as they choose. WHen you are with someone you have someone elses feelings to take into consideration. That is why it is important in a new relationship to take things nice and slow so that each of you can become acclamated to one another.
