Sarabeth's, one on the eastside, 90th st, westside in the 80's. Good for kids or without.
French Toast-85th street, probably better without kids, can be a bit crowded, but all good places will be.
probably my favorite, in Soho - The Cupping Room, is ok for kids, but ok, alone.
America-15th Street off of 5th ave
The Coffee Shop- around Union Square, can't remember the address
Barking Dog - there are 3 of them, 2 upper eastside, one in midtown.

NORMA'S at the le park and meridian has the best breakfast, and its kid friendly. This place can get on a wait but the food is worth it. It offers a variation of the traditional favorites and everyone will find something they will love. Eleven Madison Park is a very nice place to have brunch but the menu would not appeal to children.

Bubby's in Tribeca and Good Enough to Eat on the UWS are kid-friendly, though the wait at both can be a pain on the weekends.
As far as not kid-friendly, maybe 'ino in the West Village. The Truffled Egg Toast is fantastic.

in case you do not thoughts going to 20 third street and extremely on the point of seventh Ave., there is the Malibu Diner which has brunch each Sunday - it really is particularly reliable - I absolutely have eaten there truly some circumstances. they have a tremendous decision and regularly i'm instantly served when I seat myself - in many circumstances they don't seat you. yet everywhere you land up, i wish it really is a reliable brunch for you.

Kids love Serendipity - 60th Street and Third Avenue. And then if they're not completely loaded on sugar, take them to Dylan's Candy Bar on the corner. It's close to FAO Schwarz - one of the greatest toy stores - kids can play with the toys and games and watch dancers dance on the giant keyboard that was used in the movie "Big'.
The Barking Dog on Third Avenue and 94th Street - the wait staff make a big fuss over kids, and they love it. Food's good, too.
Peanut Butter and Co on Sullivan Street in Soho - everything on the menu is made with peanut butter.
Alice's Teacup on 73rd and Columbus on the Upper West Side - absolutely charming!

For you: Cafe Artistes 67th and Fifth - great food, wonderful atmosphere.
