Are the makers of the peanut butter extending any help towards the public. Is filing a lawsuit possible. Does anyone know of any phone numbers to contact people ?

The way I feel about it, if you actually bought the peanut butter and got sick, AND you incurred out of pocked medical expenses the way I did, then at the very least you should be reimbursed for that.

I have documentation that i was in the hospital so my work knows. My insurance still hasn't kicked in so this was a toughie.

What I don't like is what I've seen at my work. Someone brought in ten jars of peanut butter that weren't Peter Pan or Great Value and didn't have 2111 either. Also had no receipt and wanted money for the jars. We didn't even sell two of them.

My store's policy is to give refunds or exchanges for the peanut butter if you have the marking of 2111 on lid or label. A receipt is "preferred."

Filing a lawsuit? I would think depending on the level of sickness and bills paid you could file to get reimbursed since the refund on a jar of peanut butter may not cover what you pay to get treatment or cover transport if you got yourself to treatment. Whatever is fair is fair I guess.

I supposed I just feel bad over the deaths that are occurring that may be linked to the bad butter. I'm glad I found out the hard way, because I live with two immunosuppressed people that could have eaten some but didn't because I let them know.

There already is a class action lawsuit pending against ConAgra. They were talking about it on the radio. I think nine people so far are part of it.

Don't you love our lawsuit happy country. We did get the infected peanut butter, but no one in our house got sick. I wonder how bad it REALLY was.

I saw on the news today where Peter Pan's manufacturers are anticipating paying out over 60 million dollars to those that were sick, so they must be anticipating at least having to pay medical costs.
