Yes, the tip is at least 15% of whatever it would have cost you. That way, the masseuse actually makes money. The spa would've already covered its cost in the advertising budget.

Yes...like the saying going, there's no such thing as a free lunch. But hey, you're getting a virtually free massage!
I've been told that you should always tip the standard (15-20%) of original the cost (before any discounts). So, let's say a 25 min Swedish massage at your local salon cost $50. Tip her 20% of the $50, which comes out to be $10. Great deal!

I believe you should but not must. Should because you are receiving a service, people serving you are involved and in most cases they may be tipped if you are satisfied(In some places like really expensive restaurants, hotels,... a tip is not always welcomed).
The amount of the tip depends mostly on the quality of the service, then it may not be a bad idea to consider it between 10% and 30%. Remember that there is not an unbreakable rule about it.
If you are not satisfied tell them so. You will be less inclined to give a tip so if you don't want don't give one.

I'm not sure what the proper amount for a massage would be, but yes you should tip even if it is a free coupon. Keep in mind that the coupon does not cover the tip.

It is proper to tip for a free service if you would normally tip for the same type of service that you pay for.
The amount of the tip can vary, but 10-15% of the normal cost of the service would be a good starting point.

I think a tip is a good idea. Tip at least as much as you would for a regular massage of that length.

yes you should give a tip. i think a customary tip is 15 or so percent.
think of it as getting the free cell phone that you have to pay the tax for at the time of purchase.
