You can get adhesive nail caps for cats. They will stay on for..I think six weeks, and they're fairly cheap. They don't remove the cat's claws, but they can't climb curtains or the chandelier. Also, get your cat a scratching post.

Maybe you should let your cat outside to roam. It will let off some of that energy that is used to destory your house. Maybe you should get a scratching post and tons of little catnip mice. Also, if you want to tame your kitty, give a little bit of catnip. It effects every cat differently but after an hour it will soothe your kitty.
You can also try getting a long leather strap or long shoe laces and drag it around for your cat. They love to chase things. My cat used to climb my curtains too so I used to get a spray bottle full of water and spray him whenever he was doing something really naughty. He will learn not to do something whenever you reach for the bottle. Believe me, it works!

If you are witnessing the behavior I suggest using a squirt bottle with water. Everytime the cat climbs, squirt it and firmly tell it no. Usually cats don't like this and it will discourage the behavior after a few times.

A cat must know its limits. You need to show it your boss.
The way you respond to your cat is important. You can send out confusing signals to the cat and they become unsure therefore they don't take you seriously. When they are doing something wrong let them no they are doing wrong eventually they will learn. If she/he is still a kitten they usually grow out of it when they are around 2years.

I think you should stop dropping acid. That sounds like a hallucination or a made up story especially for Yahoo! answers to see who actually responds to such a claim.

Declaw, at least in the front. Or confine the animal to one room. You can train a cat, but it is best to start when they are still a kitten.
