Can someone tell me how to give myself a good press without, making my hair heavy and greasy?

Make sure the hot comb is not red hot before using it on your hair. Let it cool off first. Then wipe the pressing comb on a cloth,to test it if the cloth turns black to dark drown it's still too hot to use, then take a small section of hair and run the comb slowing from roots to the ends, also using the smooth side of the comb, do under the hair the same way.
