Christians shouldn't be "allowing" gays anything. Gays and lesbians should have the same rights as christians to begin with.

Tax breaks and health insurance are not religious issues. While I personally believe marriage to be a sacred institution, our society has made it into pretty much a joke... and so I have no problem with any couple entering into a government sanctioned union in order to reap the benefits of that union... you can call it what you want.
Sad to say, as a minister, I've seen gay couples that genuinely love each other more than some heterosexual couples. Does that mean I approve of what they do??? What difference does it make???? They don't need my approval... maybe that's why they are so happy... they stopped looking for approval from other people.

They are the same in terms of the individual. All men are created equal. Jesus came so that all men may have life, and that more abundantly. Marriage is still DEFINED as a union of a MAN and a WOMAN, so they should not be treated as a married couple. You can not call a lemon a lime. You can't call an apple an orange. They are not the same thing. Until the definition of marriage is changed, it can not exist between two people of the same sex. It can not be marriage, becasue it is not marriage.

Being Gay is as wrong as any sin. And we are all sinners. So the focus shouldn't be "What is a sin" but rather the focus should be Jesus Christ. That is: if you want to follow what the scripture says. All of the Law must be done in order to live by it. Since it was found to be impossible to keep the Law, a person being honest with themself should be driven to repentance.
The repetance might not even be about being Gay, it could be some other thing that a Gay person is experiencing.
Whatever that might be, it should drive that person with that kind of knowledge to Jesus, who lived the Law perfectly for us.

It is my understanding that many "Gay" relationships are rather transient. Also, the "Gay" lifestyld shortens life expectancy by about 30 years according to a study I read. Does that mean I would have to pay for part of their health care? I can't figure why we let the government into the marriage business in the first place. Marriage is a "cohesion" contract.

To me, gay is no different than being straight. But that does not include marriage. For gay is a weakness. My previous postings below will explain.
The Bible says in plain English…..no man shall lay with another nor with a beast. Flat up meaning no gay or animal sex.
We all have a weakness…and that weakness is our test by God. Some are weak to food, others to drugs, some to porn, others might be for the same sex, others for animals, etc. Each of us has one…..and we are tested for it.
Some in my family are porn addicts, just can’t get enough. That is their weakness. With Gay’s, that is there weakness.
So to accept Jesus and his works and words…he will help you with this weakness.
You are born “gay” as we call it cause society has labeled your weakness. A sin is a sin is a sin to God. Whether you sleep with the same sex or tell a lie…man is who put rankings on such items. A lie and murder are the same to God.
But the important thing is to have Jesus, for he will save you if you ask. Sure you might slip again, and sin from time to time, for that is human. But from finding him, he will help turn you from this weakness so its not so tempting. But to ask for him then blatantly go back to being “gay”, he won’t accept that, for he knows you didn’t try.
Like any hurdle we have for work….we work towards a goal to achieve it. The work of God and Jesus is a hurdle we are fighting for life, a short life…..for the next life is forever

well i'm kinda biased i'm not a Christian, i'm a Christ Follower (there is a diff) and i'm bi. i've read the bible and i know whut one of Jesus' deciples said and i know whut it states in leviticus. but whut tha Christians don't understand is that neither God or Jesus said that in either of those places, those books were written by man. yes i know so was mathew mark luke and john, but if homosexuality (or bisexuality for that matter) was such a big deal. it states that Jesus healed tha sick and made the blind to see, then y wouldn't he have made the gay/bi str8? i've asked Christians there view on this and they all have said the same thing, "well it's a choice when it comes to sexual preference" i say to all Christians "WHUT A CROCK!" that makes no sence. there's no facts on it but myself and other gay/bi ppl and even sum str8 ppl agree that it's not a choice it's in our genes. and that's where my belief is staying. i believe in Christ, but i am not a Christian! i refuse to follow the church, i follow the bible.

Many people also believe David Hasselhoff is talented, that the number 13 is unlucky, and that if you bury a potatoe outside on a full moon your scars will go away and we let them all get married. Just because you have some itiot view on something doesn't mean we should listen to you. My dad always said the first sentece in teh bible should have been "Mine ye own buisness"

why is this just about gays. I've known hetero couples that have married just to get the breaks, then they split up and still keep the insurance and other things .

i belive when you love somone you should have the right to marry them and claim them on your medical coverage.i belive everyone is put on earth for a reason. i belive people who are in love with the same sex should have the rights as straight people do.i dont agree with their life style but they are not 3rd class citizens. we let people from other country come here and have rights and freedom . so why cant people who are gay have the same rights as everyone does. what it is okay for the govermnet and other people to give people from other countrys right but because somone who loves the same sex has no rights that is unfair to me.
