You should go to a doctor who can drain the abscess and prescribe antibiotics. Do not delay, it can spread and get in your bloodstream (sepsis).

Beside going to doctor, try to cut way down on all starchy foods, sweets, etc. These things feed the infection, in a sense, and prohibit rapid healing. I have had abscesses and I know how painful they are, but, again, cut back on starches and sweets, this will help a great deal, but not a cure-all.

Saturate a gauze pad with Hydrogen Peroxide and lay it on the area. It should help it relieve the pain and hopefully heal. Change it as needed. Neosporin has a pain killer in it that also could help the pain.

Soak in an Epsom Salts tub.

If it is really bad you need to go to the local emergency room and have it lanced. I had an abcess that within 3 days turned into Fournier's Gangrene. The doctors at the hospital said it was very close to poisoning my blood and killing me. If I had had it taken care of quickly, I could have saved mysel much discomfort, surgery, and a near death experience.

Go to the doctor, get some antibiotics, perhaps get it lanced and follow up with using a surgical scrub e.g. Betadine.
