Or heal amputees or those born without completely formed limbs.

I've seen many people on here make silly, dubious claims about laying on of hands / anointing with oils / prayer as a means of healing illnesses.

How is it that only illnesses that are difficult to visibly track, without constantly hooking a patient up to medical equipment, can be 'healed'.

Is it because it makes it easier to deny evidence that would falsify your claims and makes it easier to continue lying/being duped?

I need a good laugh.

Go ahead and find a verse for me.

They can't fake that miracle.

Penn & Teller might be able to perform that miracle in a very visceral production.

I personally don't believe that God heals in these miraculous ways today. I believe that He can and that all healing does come from God. Meaning when a surgeon operates he does what is necessary then the rest is up to God. But these miraculous healing I think are few and far between. I would not hesitate to pray or anoint a sick person with oil and believe God's best for them, but I don't look for a new leg to grow. Instead I see where someone missing a limb is helped through prosthetics. You should find humour in something other than suffering humans and in those who trust in God.

Because faith healers really have no healing power. It is an elaborate sham that they blame your lack of faith if you are not healed.

The Apostles in the first century were the LAST people to have divine healing powers.

Doctor have healing powers but they are not of the Divine nature.

In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul speaks of the gifts of the Holy Spirit ceasing. It is my opinion that people who practice "laying on of hands" are trying to take words meant for Israel and apply them to us today.

I would be interested in seeing that kind of a miracle, but I just don't think that is meant to happen today. We are supposed have faith in things unseen....

Laugh all you want. God reserves miracles like that for situations where people who have never heard of God or the Gospel are first being introduced to Him. Scientists generally aren't around deep in the jungles of New Guinea or Vanuatu, and God isn't interested in 'proving' anything to people who have already refused to believe. God is not a phenomenon, He is a PERSON. You want him to perform like a trained APE??? Forget it!

Because god gives everybody a challenge to overcome in life. This is a test to pass and some people are malformed, others have a bad homelife and some are just stupid.

It's a faith thing. Matt. 9:29 ...."according to your faith let it be to you." Most people just do not have enough faith. Besides, who says God doesn't use surgeons to do his work? He uses people in many ways to do His purposes.
