You should try WordGraph from SSuite Office, it's a very professional word processor that is compatible with most if not all processor apps.
The best thing is that it's free to use and download too... :)
Nice!!

If they gave you the 60 day trial version of office, all you should have to do is enter the authentication code that was given to you with the original laptop and it will allow you to use the full version.

There isn't a free download for Microsoft Word but there is an alternative. OpenOffice is similar to Word but if your just in for the word processing, try AbiWord.

Google has a program that's compatible with Microsoft Word and Excel. Check it out. Hope it works for you:

If you've ever struggled to keep track of different versions of spreadsheet or word processor files sent over email, Google Docs & Spreadsheets may be right for you. Google Docs & Spreadsheets is a free web-based word processing and spreadsheet program that keeps documents current and lets the people you choose update files from their own computers.

No legal free download sorry to inform you.
You will have to pay that £119 or do with something else.
Personally I use OpenOffice and it is free but your school may not accept that.

Similar thing happened to me, I had to buy Microsoft Office Pro 2007 for nearly £400!!! uhh, luckily my parents paid for it lol.. but yeah, you could also get it illegally, but i personally find it too risky.. viruses.. waiting ages to find it dosnt even work.. so i buy legitimate stuff.. i guess if all you need is word, excel and powerpoint the student one will do fine!
And whats wrong with using the one you bought previously?
