I was so lonely before I met Eddy! Now I always have someone intelligent to talk to. He translates Latin and French for me and helps me with my writing assignments. I always have a drinking buddy, and 19th century history is so much more interesting when you know a 19th century person! What's not to like?
Seriously, why do people fear ghosts and consider them evil?

If you are referring to ghosts as in the spirit of someone who is dead, well, there just isn't such a thing. When people die, they are dead. period....so then ghosts would have to be spirits, who have always been spirits, so they are probably demons...
The Bible says this about the condition of the dead...
Ecclesiastes 9:5: "5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten."
Ecclesiastes 3:19 & 20: "For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. 20 All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust."
So when you die, you are conscious of nothing, you are dead.

Most of these beliefs stem from christian ideas. The concept of heaven and hell in this case. Good people go to heaven when they die, so the ones that don't are bad people. Also the dead rising from the grave are one of the signs of the end times, not a good thing to a lot of people.
Add hollywood and popular culture to this mix and it reinforces the idea that the deceased that linger on earth are here for some nefarious purpose.

Not all ghosts are evil some have bad spirts, and are haunted by their past lives. Most are good, do you know a real ghost? And it doesn't help with all the movies portraying them as evil sprits.

I think people are afraid Of Ghost because they don't know that much about them.People think the are evil cause the are dead spirits trying to kill us...when they're not.The are misguided souls that don't want to be away from their lover ones.I think people should give them a chance.

The dead know nothing, and they do not praise YHVH (two scriptures, psalms and Ecclesiastes) therefore "Ghosts " aren't the dead. The other option is the evil angels who were cast out of heaven when Satan was. QED
