No foods will prevent the stomach flu. If you are going to get it, you will. You should check out what each person ate while on that family vacation. It could have been food poisoning but that usually happens within a short period of time of eating the affected food. Just like in school, if one person gets a cold or the flu, everybody gets it. You may just get lucky and not get sick. I hope so. The flu is no fun. If you do, drink Gatorade. A pharmacist told me to drink this to replace the electrolytes lost in the flu process with vomiting, etc. It really worked and got rid of the shaky, weak feeling afterwards.

So most folks agree that there is no food to prevent stomach flu (aka viral gastroenteritis, norovirus).
However, no one's taken a moment to give you tips on preventing the spread of the virus...
Problem is, norovirus is EXTREMELY contagious. The virus is hardy and can survive on surfaces (like food surfaces, doorknobs and the like) for a considerable amount of time. The best thing you can do is to avoid sharing a bathroom with the sick people. As gross as it sounds, vomit and diarrhea splatter can send the virus particles into the air, and it can take a while for them to settle down (often onto surfaces you touch!)
Don't let sick people handle food. I have dealt with outbreaks of norovirus that have involved accidental contamination of salads and muffins by sick food handlers. Everyone needs to FREQUENTLY wash their hands with hot, soapy water. Wash soiled clothes and sheets with hot water, bleach if possible. Clean surfaces with a mild bleach surfaces to kill virus.
Viral gastroenteritis has an incubation of 12 to 48 hours. It's thursday now, so if you haven't gotten sick from last week's exposure, you might be in the clear (unless you hang out with those relatives again!). People who have been sick can continue to shed virus for up to a week after they recover. So make sure to mind your hygiene!!!

Eat more fresh vegetables either raw in salads or steamed. Take about twenty garlic cloves and chop them up fine. With dinner, eat a forkful of food(no red meat), then a forkful of garlic. Chew each bite really well until gone. Go to bed after having a glass of warm pure water(from the bottle). The next morning you should be fine. To further prevent flus and other diseases add more garlic to your veggies every day. This helps boost your immune system so that it can combat any diseases and snuff them quickly.

Stomach flu is a virus - no foods will help. However, for a few days you may eat a bland diet(no spicy foods, eat oatmeal, cereal, cheese toast, yogurt) It won't keep you from getting sick but my help ease any symptoms you may have.

Unfortunately, if you have the virus, there's really nothing you can do at this point.
