I mean - it really doesn't make sence to me? Father of man would make sence. Or son of the creator of man. I mean, read this:

Mt.8:20 Jesus said to him, "The
foxes have holes and the birds of the air
{have} nests, but the Son of Man has
nowhere to lay His head."

"the Son of Man," it doesn't sound like he's talking about just him being born from a human being it seams liek its supposed to mean something.

Any ideas? :D

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
(New Testament | Matthew 12:32)

13 ¶ ....... he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
(New Testament | Matthew 16:13)

9 .......Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
(New Testament | Matthew 17:9)

From the examples of the scriptures above, "Son of man" is Jesus Christ. even Christ refer himself as the "Son of man.

Since Christ is not born of Joseph, the "man" in the phrase cannot mean Joseph.
So logically speaking, I would say the "man" meant God, the Eternal Father, the "Perfect Man".

In another word, "Son of Man" implied "Son of the Perfect Man"
which means "Son of God".

Blue Letter Bible - Lexicon 1) beginning, origin 2) the person or thing that commences, the first person or thing in a series, the leader 3) that by which anything begins to be, the origin, the active cause The understanding of 'origin' and 'active cause' in this word is where water comes bubbling out of the ground is the source, origin, cause of the river. The water is still part of of the river, and is not the creator of the river. Truly understanding english will help you to understand what John wrote at Rev 3:14. Even the NASB a very Trinitarian bible equates Rev 3:14 "beginning' with Prov. 8:22. The General is the leader, but he is still part of the army.

In the Patriarchal religions everything is man. In Numbers in the Bible, the census was taken by all men who were the elders of the tribes. Women do not play a very prominent role. Son of man means that Jesus was the son of God who, in these religions, is also a man and God the father. Mary only did the hard part. She gave birth but God was really the father. All children were sons or daughters of man because once the man was known to participate in sex and that he was part of the process and that women were not the sacred givers of life, everything became denoted in terms of man. The man gave the life into the woman and she merely gave birth.

Adam
Meaning: man or red (Babylonian); the generic name for man, having the same meaning in the Hebrew and the Assyrian languages

The apostle Paul speaks of Adam as "the figure of him who was to come." For this reason, our Lord is sometimes called the second Adam. This is described in Romans 5:14-19

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

In the New Testament it is used forty-three times as a distinctive title of the Savior. In the Old Testament it is used only in Ps. 80:17 and Dan. 7:13 with this application. It denotes the true humanity of Jesus. He had a true body (Hebrews 2:14; Luke 24:39) and a rational soul.

Son of Man was the specific Hebreic term that declared Jesus to be the promised Jewish Messiah.

Hearing this, no observant Jew could possibly have missed either the claim or the connection.

See the Book of Daniel for more.

On the contrary, it makes a lot of sense. Jesus Is The Son of God. He was born on Earth by means of The Holy Spirit and a human woman named Mary. Mary is a member of mankind. Jesus was also her son. Hence He Is also The Son of Man.

He was speaking of himself in the physical sense. When he said this, it was his reply to an issue posed to him by his (pre)disciples who were concerned about how they will live their lives following him. They were worried about the physical hinderences (where they would sleep at night).

NOTE: As for that person who made that statement about him hiding who he was a child of. That is actually pointless. If you read the point of John (chap1- about 7 or 8) you'll see that people didn't follow him because they knew his parents, and that he was the "son of a carpenter." Remember the Jews viewed the messiah as being someone who came from out of the blue.

According to the notes in my KJV, that is Jesus's name as the "representative Man." Remember, throughout the Old Testament a coming man, born of a woman, is promised to the Jews.

, The quote Jesus makes here, He is referring to His being begotten of a woman (birth) from Mary's womb. From the descendants of Adam , mankind
Adam was also called, Son of Man, and so were the early patriarchs, and later prophets through Seth's bloodline. Jesus is hinting here, though indirectly so, to His long royal line(through David) back all the way to Adam!!!

Well, from the original Hebrew Bible, I know that "Jesus son of Mary" actually translates into "Jesus Mary's bastard". In those days, being the "son of so-and-so" always meant you were a bastard. Can you say, "somebody didn't want anyone to know Jesus was a bastard"?
But yeah, just thought I'd let all the English-speaking Christians know that.
