I was at a Charismatic Christian church with my sister and in the 80's the preacher held up the front page of the newspaper and said "Another 2 homosexuals died from AIDS today" and the whole congregation clapped. I left the building immediately. (He didn't use the word homosexuals but I changed the word to avoid a violation. You figure out the slur.)
Secondly, a preacher at a Baptist Church recited this poem
The more you learn, the more you know
The more you know, the more you forget
The more you forget, the less you know
So what is the point of learning?
And the little kid in front of me leaned over to his mom and said, "See, I don't need to go to school. Pastor Ron says so."
I avoid churches now because of the stupidity. I used to go to appease friends and try out their god, but now I know that only karma is real.

The absolutely worst thing I have ever heard a preacher say is "I'm Gay." I think Gay is the new word for witch. The Witch hunts reincarnate. The term should not be acknowledged. At a very large priest convention and on national TV they introduced a priest as GAY.

Well, I am a preacher and I could tell you many.
James 3:2 "For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body." We all offend in many things: of course, in the office of preaching and teaching, there is especial danger of our offending in word.
Proverbs 10:19 "In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin." . Much speech involves risk of sin; hence the wisdom of restraining the tongue.

Ummm, I heard a Protestant minister using Matthew 16:18 (which can be interpreted as making St. Peter first among the disciples) as a justification for making tons of cash. Regardless, it was tacky, manipulative and just the sorta thing for some pin-striped cash-money minister to do to make a buck. His name is Creflo Dollar. He ordained himself.

I was really turned off when I heard the pastor of a big church, David Hocking, make fun of the mormom boys on their bikes...it was an Easter service about 18 yrs. ago. It felt so offensive to me that I almost wouldn't go back to that church, but I did, because I follow God, not man. Anyway, he resigned because of inappropriate behavior by a pastor....it was all very interesting.

I once hear a preacher tell the congregation that the community's children will burn in hell because members of the congregation wouldn't volunteer to drive the church van to pick them up. He went on about it for several minutes talking about how it the responsibility of us all and we are sinning by not volunteering.

I went to a church and the preacher couldn't say breakfast, he says breakwust. He also said he wanted to deliciously thank the visitors that attended the ceremony.

Drink the Cool-Aid. Rev. Jim Jones.
For those too young to remember the Jonestown massacre, see a recap at the website below.
No I didn't actually hear him say that.
