If it has not yet and MILLIONS of people do beleive its never going to happen. IF God was REAL the world would not be in the state it is in. Its just another fairy tail.

No. Just because people believe God brought peace to the world doesn't mean God did bring peace to the world. Just because people believe something doesn't mean it's true.

No, I would believe in belief of God. Because it was belief that brought peace, not God. I have heard of examples of how someone who thought they were working for the glory of God did many wonderful things. But that fact doesn't mean that God exists. I think that belief in God can be very helpful, it helps people to forgive, to take life's hardships, and to be kind to each other, but many religions do that too whether they have a god or not. What I'm trying to say is that belief can be a powerful and helpful thing, but that doesn't make what is being bealived in any more real to me.

If you mean that it would bring peace in terms of the battles between say Atheist, Theists, Agnostics and everybody else then perhaps there's a slight possibility of doing so. But only if it's done by freewill choice and not by force. But then again if you look at all of the different religions particularly the ones that worship god there's not that much peace as everybody has a different interpretation of what this higher power is.

No, you still haven't got it have you. gods is only in others and your head because you cant except that mankind is the most evil that there is and given the chance we will kill ourselves. The planet is doomed you cant tell me that because we pay taxes on carbon that china will produce less and a starving Indian kid will stop burning plastic to cook the rat he found. because it produces more gasses that will kill. no i think not, also there is no life after death. you just cease to be. religion is only there to fund its own agenda and not that of the planet if it was the case it would all have the same moral message but it don't. As per the majority, they say "love your neighbour", but if he pisses you off, get the biggest gun you can and blow his head off, with the Church's permission. don't tell me the military does not have priests from all of the major religions. Go out and enjoy your self as there is nothing you could possibly do to change anything. After all not of the world leaders can do it and nether can the pope or any other religious leader to this date only destruction and death all in the name of God and the church. personally I cant wait until religion dies, after all Paganism is on the decline and other religions have failed IE the Egyptians and sun worship.

I'm sorry to say this, but that *is* a rather pointless question. How would I ever believe that believing in God would bring peace to the world, if I didn't actually believe in God?

~~~vlad,,,, Absoutely not. "God" infers a Belief System with the "faith" that a Supreme Being is at it's Apex dictating Everything. This would render the Notion of Freewill irrelevent thus retarding the Growth of Man, and we would all live in stagnating Blissful Ignorance, like The Amish or average middle eastern muslim who's only book ever read is the koran. People, ie; Souls, do not thrive in a Dictatorship of Dogma.
I can't just believe. I need evidence to believe.
However if the acts of belief brought world peace, yes I would.
If accepting that there is no god would bring peace to the world, would you be willing to relinquish your beliefs? Because that's a much more likely event than "believing in god bringing peace to the world."
If someone was able to guarantee that believing in God would bring peace to this world, it wouldn't help. You'd probably have everyone SAYING they believe in God in hopes that it would bring peace, but just because you say it doesn't mean it's true. You can't just say, "Oh, OK...I'll start believing now."
If believing in Zeus and the Flying Spaghetti Monster would bring peace to the world, would you believe?
Besides the apparent sillyness of these questions, the real issue remains: how can you force yourself to believe something? It makes absolutely no sense. You can go through the motions and delude yourself and others but you can't really believe.
