What does the Bible say? I'm not asking what you've been told in churches but what does the Living Breathing Word of God say about the bride???

Rev 21 says that the bride is the New Jerusalem which will come out of heaven onto Earth. It says...vs 9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. vs 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God...

The church is called the Body of Christ and He is our head.

Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

It does not say in Eph 5 that we ARE the bride.

People use Rev 19: 7+8 to say we are the bride. It says, “vs 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. vs 8And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
It doesn’t say we ARE the bride but that we will clothe the bride. SOOOOOO Is it possible that we’ve been preached the wrong stuff? Is it possible that we are the body and Jerusalem is the bride? I know we can comprehend marrying a city but then again we aren’t God. What do you think??????????

The Old Testament clearly states that Israel is the wife of Jehovah (Jeremiah 3:14). Christ is not Jehovah the Father but God the Son. Rev. 21:9 says I will show thee the BRIDE the LAMBS WIFE. That is the Church. The New Jerusalem is just that - the new, in-grafted spiritual "Jerusalem" that Paul speaks of - for we New Testament saints in Christ are in-grafted into the Promises of Abraham. The original Jerusalem is still on the earth and is still married to Jehovah.

The Bride of Christ is the anointed ones that were (Bought)from
the earth(with Christs blood),They are a limited number(144,000)
The first of these were chosen at Pentecost 33 c.e when Jehovah's
Holy Spirt came on the people.(Acts 2:1-4)So down Through the ages that number has been added to.Most followers of Christ have an earthly hope. The resurrection, and out of these are the great
crowd that survive The Great Tribulation and live into Jehovahs
new system with Christ Jesus as our King.(Rev.7:4-17)You are
right,(the church) is not the Bride.

When Saul was on the road to Damascus Jesus didn't say Saul, Saul why do you persecute my Bride, he said Why do you persecute Me. The term bride from scriptural meaning to me implies to be married but we are already in Christ. The Bride is a bride to be. So would you pray Our Father-in-law to be which art in Heaven no. Also it implies who ever the bride is is not married yet. If you're not married yet, then you're not in union with Christ. But as the body we are in Christ and Christ is a he not a she. And the scripture states he is the King of Kings not the King of Queens. Both male and female members of the body will both be kings and priests. There will be a land that will be married according to Isaiah and it is referred as Hepzibah and Beulah and that land is New Jerusalem according to Revelation 21.

all of which it can be hypothetical, although in what I understand the Body, is a temple, a temple is a Church, if you respect the Church because of its significance, shouldn't you respect your Body in the same way, although I'm a man, I just do that, and made me happy to think I'm right, if I where a woman I will do the same, as well that I will hope that I will have the chance to be seeing by Jesus or God the Father at least once as the perfect temple, the church or the bride???

the church - assembly of believers - is designated as the bride of Christ as a metaphor. according to Jewish tradition of marriage of the bridegroom and the bride.

- "to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints."

"we" - believers - church - the bride, cannot give righteousness to ourselves.
anything 'granted' always comes from God.

It's a metaphor for the church of Christ.....but a very true metaphor. There will be a marriage supper of the lamb someday.
We have now been grafted into the same tree as the Jews....therefore making us both a part of the brideship.

Sorry, the two shall become one flesh. The Church is most certainly the bride of Christ.
