Only if you realize you will be going to Iraq... no matter your job Marines are riflemen first... My brother went to Desert storm and it was hard on our family because we heard on the News how many body bags Bush Sr. had ordered...luckily it was over soon and he came home safely. But Now that he is out he is an extremely successful business man... without a college degree, only because of his experience in the Marines and work ethic they taught... but if your planning on getting an education while in, the marines is a tough place to do it... think 12 hour days then making time for school! But I think everyone should serve their country at least once in their life...cuz everyone complains about it while they enjoy its freedoms... thats why i'm crossing into the blue! but Marines are my hero's so I say go for it! If your not planning on making a career out of it... do something you can use on the outside, infantry isn't all that marketable unless you want to be a cop!

It all depends on what they are offering you as far as job, bonuses, enlistment/commissioned, The marines is not a bad branch to be in for an upcoming young man or someone with their degree. The only downfall to the marines is if your interested in medicine, they do not have a medical specialty. Hope this helps,

If you want to be a marine, go ahead. You know that there is a wash out rate. Once you sign the papers and take the oath, you are government property until end of your enlistment.

Only if you can pass the physical, mental and moral tests necessary to make the commitment, and it's one you intend to honor. Marines are made for life.

I was in from 96-00.
I joined because I was pissed off at the world, and everything in it.
I'm still pissed off at the world and everything in it. I have an honorable discharge and a Machine gun certificate to hang on the wall.
If you have the warrior spirit, indulge!

OCS will be hard. i'm highly positive that is extra extreme because you may be educated to be in fee of fairly some human beings. 26 isn't previous see you later as you're in sturdy structure and may want to deal with the actual and psychological stress that they are going to positioned you by. There are going to be human beings of each age dealing with preparation with you, highly once you're doing OCS. imagine about it, you'll have a level to be an officer. I doubt there are any 18 year olds doing it. i do not fairly know much about the Marines, yet i know that contained in the military the PT criteria go by age and gender, enlisted and officials have a similar scale. they could assume extra from you although, because you'd be in fee. i imagine the Marines run 3 miles as component of their PT try, yet i don't know each of the criteria. You an in many situations discover the options on-line. do exactly not forget that the Marines is going to be the most bodily demanding.
