He was a prophet sent by God to Judah to wrap up the old Sinai covenant and prepare the remnant for the New Covenant which God prophesied through him in Jeremiah 31:31. He was a sad prophet who mourned the divorce of the nation of Judah and God. He was also persecuted frequently and suffered much emotional affliction but he was faithful to his call even though his words were not welcomed by the rebellious "Judaians"/ Israelites.
