ok....it starts it runs....but when you slow down or stop..........as you push gas to go......it acts like its gonna die out....it putters and then goes fine it's a 1991 Ford Probe (automatic) any clue???

Also we thought it may have needed a good tune up so we did it this weekend and it still does the same.

It sounds to me like a lack of fuel. Replace the fuel filter then if that doesn't work look into the fuel pump.

You may need a new Throttle position sensor, this may be weak and not sending the PCM a good signal so it stutters when you want to accelerate until it hits a good region on the slider.

might be a computer or sensor going bad. You might need to raise the idle speed or check the tranny. Best bet take it to a mechanic and have him hook up his computer to test it out.

if your air breather isnt put on properly it can cause the computer to read funny and lean out the engine

Have you checked the fuel filter? You should check that.
