I am a devout Christian and i was wondering that if i joined the army and was fighting terrorists and my friend beside me was hit by a weapon and it burnt his face off, melted his eyeballs, ripped his lower jaw off and exposed his skull...but he was still alive and was screaming in pain, would God be mad if i euthanized him????

i know God says "thou shalt not kill" but everyone seems to think hes ok with us killing terrorists and nazis in ww2, so why should he not be ok with mercy killing in a situation where a friend is disfigured and in pain?

We are only allowed to kill in war and self defense. You couldn't kill your friend, but you could pray for quick relief.

Oh my gosh.
First of all, war is different. War is acknowledged by God. Have you even read most of the Old Testament?
Second of all, you have no right to decide that he has no life after this disfiguring and horrible wound! If the blast didn't kill him, he should get to safety and recieve the best care available. Yes, he is in pain, but you have NO RIGHT to finish him off. Full Stop.

Im not going to step into Gods shoes and pretend I know what and how he thinks. But if I was you I would pray for the soldier in pain and do no killing.

if he is that badly wounded he will probably die from shock without any intervention on your part and no it is not okay with God if you just go ahead and murder him outright. And killing the enemy in time of war in the service of your government is not at all the same thing, and I'm pretty sure you already know that.

I beleive God will not judge your action (killing your friend) but your motive (saving ur friend from torment and pain and bring him to a painless death). Yeh pretty sure that's what would happen.

I believe the difference is war. You would be guilty of murder killing him. But in war, the responsibility isn't on you( when the enemy is killed).

Personally, I couldn't judge you for that. How does God see it? It's not clear to me.
