I'm asking for me not for him , he is amped to go travel and follow in our dads footsteps and all that bullshit, he is not a coward or a lazy *** that wants to stay home drinking, i cant believe how many ppl judged him by me asking this question. he does not deserve that; he is serving this county unlike the ppl that are sitting on thier asses reading ppls questions, i am looking for a loop hole so that my big brother, my friend, my hero won't be sent to iraq 'cause we have and idiot redneck for a president. he has not once stated that he didn't want to go. my dad went and fought for this country and it's an honor to him to do the same. i dont' want him to go.

Sounds like you need to shut up and support what your brother is doing.

You should be regarding him as a role model.

hand him a straw and tell him to SUCK IT UP!!! This is why he joined. Not to be sitting at home drinking. The Military goes to war. Just in case nobody knew that. When he joined he knew what he was in for. You will hate yourself forever if you skate out of War. You will be considered a quitter for the rest of your life. Lokk at all the draft dodgers everyone hates. You can make up anything. That you are gay or do some drugs and get booted but you will never fool yourself. And that cowardness is something you will always carry with you. Dont help him (you) get out of it. Its an obligation. Its what you promised and swore to the country. Nobody likes a quitter.

He should have thought of these topics before he signed on the dotted line! I'm sure he spent each drill paycheck he got, didn't he?
He was sent to schools for training wasn't he?
Well now its payback time for the "bennys" he received! These type of people really just p-i-s-s me off! They sign up for all the freebies and benefits, but when their number is called for duty, they look for ways to get out of what they agreed to do.
You should hang your head in shame!
And before you start about me serving....yes I have! Been serving for 26 years and still serving! I'm home right now, but been to Iraq, Afghan. Desert Storm, Bosnia, and Panama. Any more questions?

He can commit a crime and get sent to jail.

So, having got all the benefits, you want him to escape the payment? When someone joins the national guard, they are aware of what could happen. If you don't want that, don't join in the first place.

well since he volunterily signed a contract and wasn't drafted he's gotta go! unless his wife is having some sort of high risk pregnancy and needs him there to take care of her and the fam, and can get a hardship deferment! just hope thay he's not gone that long!

I agree with the other answers, your brother swore an oath to serve our country and that's what he needs to do.
