I would like to record the hours I spend at the place I volunteer, but they dont provide them. They would have to be acceptable if I were to show them to a medical school or other post grad schools.

Most non-profit organizations that sponsor volunteer projects will also have specific forms to record your community service hours. In some cases, if you work with some of the volunteer centers, many have an electronic form that allows you to record all of your hours automatically for sponsored events, and manually (but still on-line) for other events.
