Just wondering as I've just bought a HD DVD player, which is upstairs in my room with the HDTV, but can I also play them like on a regular DVD player like downstairs? I heard that they are double sided and can be played on both... it would also be good as I usually watch films at other people houses and they don't have HD DVD players

Unless you bought those HD DVD and Standard DVD Combo discs, you can't take a HD DVD and play it on your standard DVD player. The standard DVD player simply is incapable of reading the HD DVD encoding.
