I stopped my Wellbutrin a week ago and I feel great. How long until I know I will be ok without it for good?

You'll be ok for good. Don't worry about it- enjoy your life.

Hi! Hopefully, I can shed some light to your question!!!

Wellbutrin comes in 2 forms: Wellbutrin SR and Wellbutrin XL. Most people take Wellbutrin XL. I know some people get very sleepy after taking Wellbutrin XL while others are alert and completely fine. I think that you are in the latter category. My aunt and mom take Wellbutrin as needed (kind of like alprazalam or nortryptiline) and are doing marvelous. You know certain things work for certain people, and I think it's doing you very well. Even though I won't advise that you quit your medicine "cold turkey," If you are doing well now, I think that's somewhat of a reassurance that you will be ok without the Wellbutrin. I strongly believe that you will be fine, but if you're not absolutely sure, you might want to talk it over with your physician.

Hope my answer helped you out!!!

It depends on how long you took the Wellbutrin. As far as knowing if you'll be ok without, time will tell.

That depends. If you suffer from bipolar disorder, you might swing into a manic phase that feels extremely energized and shifts into a hostile and dangerously impulsive state. If that's the case, you could be experiencing that now.

The only way you should go off psych meds is to work with your doctor to decrease them. Your doctor is the person who can observe your behavior and ensure your at the least risk for problems possible. PLEASE include your doctor in this process.

I think you are good if you are already feeling ok without them. I stoped mine and it took a month of hot flashes, headaches and mood swings but all these went away after a month.
