Whether they are fattening or not will depend mostly on what else is in them besides turkey. If it's just meat, bread crumbs and egg, it shouldn't be too bad. But if you start having a lot of fatty ingredients, or an excessive amount of sugar then it'll be a bit worse.

If they are already cooked when you get them, all you have to do really is heat them. Either in the oven, or microwave. Anything else you want to make with them will finish up the meal. A sauce or a gravy would be a good idea, then serve them with potatoes of some kind, or rice.

I always use ground turkey in place of hamburger. Yes it is less fattening. Read the directions on the package.
