Act it out ahead of time what you will say when he asks in out, just don't stammer because I use to get distracted by friends. This is how I lost my dream guy in high school, he asking me to go to a movie at this party. The truth is my friend L got drunk and I had to look after her, I had to find her - when I found her (this guy was bugging and she was trying to fight). I took my friend home.

Then just say yes to a date and see how it goes. After the date, let him call you. Don't be calling him every five minutes, coz he'll definitely hate you.

i think you should act cool and chill out. Don't get too excited. you should tell him to give you a day to think about and then the next day tell him yes and hug him. hope this works. most of the time it does so don't worry.

Try to dettach a little and act as if he is like your friend asking you to go grocery shopping. I know is difficult but is just a date nothing more.
Try to be yourself and act natural, difficult but not impossible...
