Without a scandal, there's no story. How many honest, sincere priests never register on the mass media radar? And it's not just Catholics. Televangelists are the most egregious example of profiteers masquerading as prophets. And it's not just religion either. Doctors, lawyers, cops, politicians, anyone with a position of public trust can be tempted to abuse their power. And people are invested in trusting them because not to would damage their fundamental beliefs about faith, culture and society. The guardians need guarding because we're all human.

Cardinal Cody in Chicago has $250 million to play with. Pope John Paul the 1st discovered that the Vatican was laundering mony for the Mafia and was going to blow the whistle on them which is why he was poisoned 33 days after he became pope. See how that works???

Lol, my parish's priest's don't live any kind of "high life". My eyes tell me that. Magazines don't always tell the truth you know. They're not in the business to tell the truth. They're in business to make money.

They should be concerned with all of the child-molesting priests that were recently convicted in the court of law.....the great priests that they devoted all of their time, money, and effort in believing were a bunch of sick bastards....nice, huh?
