Evander's next opponent has been determined. Now I know he needs tune up fights but he's got know that his "hair is getting gray". He has stated that the ultimate goal is to win a heavyweight title. Does he need to press for a title fight after this fight? He aint getting any younger guys and gals. What do you folks think?

Brent good question! I think that Evander is definetly not getting any younger and after this fight must press for that title fight he wants so bad. I think that it is also important that he looks impressive in this fight to make his chances better.

The blogbaba thinks Holyfield was the best of his era, which ended with loses to Byrd, Toney and of all people Larry Donald. I have nothing but respect for Evander, and it is his right to make his living any way he chooses, but I saw him last, ringside while another ring legend (Tommy Hearns) had the fans fearing for his health as much as rooting for him to win in Auburn Hills, Detroit.

No one wants to think about serious injury in the ring, especially to a three time heavyweight champ. Realistically Holyfield might beat a guy like Oleg, or even Briggs but is it worth the possibility of Evander ending up talking like Meldrick Taylor or God forbid Gerald McClellan. I say this out of Love and Respect:

Evander, it's time to let the younger guys do it, walk away, under your own power and live happily ever after.

I do not know what Holyfield is trying to prove. He was a great fighter and champion back in the day. You can tell he is clearly not what he used to be. That is why he keeps fighting amateurs and journeymen. I just hope he doesn't get seriously hurt once they put him in the ring with a talented experienced boxer.
