Not likely. Giving up a meal is likely to slow down you metabolism. It is better to have several small meals a day and it looks like you will be switching to one or two big meals a day. And it is better to eat during the day when you are active, breakfast and lunch power your day. If anything, give up the evening meal, or any evening eating.
Yes, if you don't eat, your body goes into a starvation mode. Your metabolism slows down and your body tries not to burn as many calories.

I would say that you will probably gain weight during this time. Your body will start to realize that you're not eating for a long period of time so when dinner time comes instead of processing all the fat it will start to store it all for the gaps of time when you stop eating lunch. Eating big meals at night will actually help you gain weight.
If you want to give up something why not give up dessert or if you always drink coffee with lunch give that up.

No. In fact you're more likely to gain weight because your body then goes into starvation mode and clings onto the fat because it realises it's not getting the food it needs.
Skipping meals is so bad for you. It slows down your metabolic rate. It means you may not be getting all the minerals and vitamins and other nutrients you need in a day. You'll find it hard to concentrate and will start to feel more sluggish.

no..
it'll jack up your metabolism.
The only thing that will help you lose weight is to spend more then you make (the only time going into debt really comes in handy). If you burn 2000 calories a day, then eat 1750 etc..
I think Carlos mencia said it best
"You put in more in the mouth then came out in the bathroom and there was a remainder" (this is one of those jokes you have to see more then hear :-))
try exercise, lay of the soda, that'll help you lose weight too.

You will probably eat more food during the other meals than you would if you ate lunch. I would bet you would probably gain weight just because you will be hungrier around dinner time and make poor food choices.

First I was going to say, do the fast for the right reasons, giving up something for God, but you said you are not fasting to lose weight. That's good. I've lost weight skipping meals, but it really deapends on what you eat for other meals too. If you up your calorie intake/decrease exercise then you won't lose. Good luck!!

It is true that if you stop eating you will gain the weight back when you start to eat again
the healthiest thing is to eat every few hours.
when you starve yourself the body hold what you eat because it doesn't know when it will be fed again.

If you want to lose weight, what you need to skip is dinner. It's the food you eat in the evening that puts on the pounds.

Yes it is true, you should just try to cut your calories at all 3 meals. Even just the smallest amount can help alot in the long run.

You'll probably actually gain weight in the long run. I would give up fried foods instead.
