You won't get bulging muscles. Your legs will be stronger and more toned though. Definitely a plus.

I fell into the same misconception. The thing is that weight lifting will help you to your goal. If you do cardio everyday and lift weights 3 times a week it will improve your body. My tips (via a great personal trainer) : 1) Do at least 30 minutes of cardio every day. 2) Weight train with low weight 3 days a week on every major muscle group. 3)Eat for your muscle mass. Eat 120 grams of protein and carbs if you only want 120 pounds of muscle on your frame.
This program made me lose soooo much weight after my second child that I was thinner than I had been in a long time. I was extremely fit. I was also a college recruited runner for track and thought that I would get bulky if I lifted. Don't worrry honey, runnning alone will not bulk you up, unless you are training to sprint. Just enjoy your exercise and have fun!

Muscle fatigue is distinctive for each individual, so basically in view which you journey no achiness does no longer mean you haven't any longer had a bad artwork out. motives why each physique is distinctive is the way your physique copes with latic acid that comes from exercising. too a lot lactic acid on your muscle mass will make you a million) drained 2) achey. yet once you're fortunate sufficient, your physique might clearly have a sturdy device of clearing the lactic acid = you may desire to no longer be achey. to try this theory out, attempt sprinting for 10 seconds and then 40 seconds of slow walking. try this for 20-30 minutes, yet by no skill give up in this exercising...basically substitute between sprinting and slow walking. in case you experience drained and achey after this, then you definately are not doing sufficient huge exercising. in case you experience no tiredness and soreness, then you definately are clearly very fortunate and sparkling the lactic acid effectively!

Good news, if you do lots of jogging/running, the muscle that's already in your legs will get skinnier, which sounds exactly like what you want. It will also burn away the fat, which does NOT turn into muscle.
There is a catch though: Don't run too fast. Doing fast sprints will get muscle. But 30 minute runs or something like that will get you skinnier.

You will get more muscle tone from running, but don't worry you're legs won't become huge. Running will help you loose fat, tone your body & fit into clothes much better.
Look at these pictures of serious runners, their legs aren't huge at all http://footlockercc.com/2006/nationalphotos/girlsrace/

It's true that fat turns into muscle, but to actually build muscle you need to use weights. You will tone by running and jogging, but not gain bulky muscle. Tonning is sexy!
