I'm getting married possibly late this year, or early next. We want a Calamity Jane theme to our wedding, but I have no idea how to go about getting a dress (I'm after similar to the one Calamity wears to the dance), so obviously even if I find a dressmaker, there's no pattern to work with. Has anyone got any ideas?
We won't have a lot of money, but as this is second time around for both of us, we want to make a special thing of it, but not necessarily in the traditional way. All advice would be welcomed. I'm in the South East of England.

A good dressmaker would have the knowledge and skill to manipulate or even create a pattern based on a picture of what you're wanting. And there are also patterns for historic style costumes, so I wouldn't think this is totally impossible. Contact your local fabric store, and ask who they would reccommend for such a project. Good luck!

If you have an image thats really all you need. A dress maker should be able to recreate it just by an image and have it made to fit you...no pattern needed. That way you cna pick your fabrics and have it made to fit your budget. Good luck
