I'm paranoid about not being white, when there's no logic in it at all. All my family are white. Both parents are white, both with blue eyes, my sister has blonde hair and blue eyes. All family names are of English origin. There's no hint of non-white in my family I know of, but I still can't get over the posibility of not being white. I look white in the mirror, but my mind won't let me believe that and tells me that I'm not. My mind won't let me believe perfect, clearly logic. Sometimes I have to seriously debate with myself whether I'm black with an afro. It's got that stupid.

I really need help.

Putting aside the somewhat racist underpinnings of your fear, I will say that you might have some sort of phobia, maybe Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, or possibly even Body Dysmorphic Disorder, in addition to any number of other disorders.

The most effective treatment for you would depend on your diagnosis. More information on your behavior would be needed before an accurate diagnosis can be made, so you should definitely seek professional help in this matter. I would strongly recommend that you see a psychologist for treatment, and possibly a psychiatrist or your primary care physician for medication to help take the edge off your anxiety.

Good luck!

Hey, seriously, there are a few ways to find out for sure if your worries are founded.

1. Put on a re-run of "Martin" or "Living Single". If you aren't intimidated, you might need to seek help.

2. Go to a record store. Purchase a copy of 50 cent's "Get Rich or Die Trying". If playing it in your car doesn't immediately drive you to lock all of your doors, you might have a problem.

3.Finally, go to a shooting range, procure a pistol (either borrow one from a friend, or some gun ranges will rent them out) and begin to target shoot. If you find yourself inclined to fire the weapon as it is parallel with the ground, as opposed to perpendicular, that is almost conclusive evidence that you are, in fact, black.

Why should it matter you are a person and people are people so just be your self. You are who you are. Life is to short to worry about stuff like that.
