She tells a guy that she cannot see anything more than a friendship right now after he has said his feelings and does not want more than a friendship at the moment. She then says she wants their friendship to get closer. Pretty soon she is flirting with him whenever she sees him. I am starting to think she likes me, and I have been flirting back. Her friends say she is not the type of girl to lead a guy on. Why the hell is she doing this??

She's playing somone in hte situation. If she has said that she is not interested like that and continues to flirt then somehting is going on unless what you think of as flirting is different form her meaning. I say just ask what's up tell her how you feel and go from there. If she is not feeling it then let it go don't make a fool out of yourself by trying to MAKE her want you it'll never work.

Girls do this ALL the time...once they find out a guy likes them it throws them for a loop, and they say, "i just want to be friends" BUT they still want you to chase after them.
So...be friends with her, but you know she is not interested, so flat out tell her that she needs to quit leading you on.
Maybe she has realized that she does have feelings for you. Don't give in to her flirting, again. Just be honest with her.

Maybe she did change her mind. But let me tell you Honestly! sometimes we girls like to lead a little, so be careful. We like the attention I suggest you stop flirting with her play a little hard to get she will come around! Good luck!

she is doing this to play hard-to-get the only reason i kno that is because i used to do it too and all my friends said i was not the type to lead a guy on but i did and it is also a game that she coul dbe playing wit your head and maybe she really does like you but doesnt want n e 1 else to kno about her crush for some dumb reason i am sure that you are very cute and understanding so it could all be a game

Wow it sounds like me when I was like 16! You see it's like this...because she knows that you are interested in her she feels power over you. She knows that when she needs her "fix" of attention or to feel good about herself..she can always go to you for it, and you willingly and cheerfully give it to her. She may not even know that she is doing it. She just knows that you make her feel good. Who knows she may like you and just want to play hard to get, but don't rely on that. My advise for you is to stop the flirting and act like you are uninterested. This may do a couple of things: she may become interested in you because she feels challenged, or, it will help you get over her! As long as she knows that you're interested, weather she tries to or not, she will toy around with you. Good luck!!

Maybe she just wants to take it slow. She could be a little nervous or uncertain. I'm in a similar situation right now, so I can relate.
