How do you know if you are getting on his nerves or nagging to much?

If he says "YOU ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY!" then you are driving him crazy. If he says "YOU ARE GETTING ON MY NERVES!" you are getting on his nerves. If he says "YOU ARE NAGGING ME TOO MUCH!" then you are nagging him too much. Otherwise, he you should let you know if you're doing something that bothers him. He can't expect you to read his mind.

If ya'll have been going out a while then hopefully he will tell you when you're getting on his nerves, but If he's just ignoring you or something than you're probably getting on his nerves.

You can tell if you are nagging him too much by his silence. He will stop sharing as much with you because that will leave too many openings for more hurt. He will later probably find reasons to be "too busy" to spend time with you too.
