There is no "best", only preferences.

The mark of good quality for amplifiers is the CEA-2006 compliancy.

As with most subs, the higher the dB sensitivity, the lower the Hz and the magnet material, the better.

Samarium-cobalt and Neodymium (Rare Earth) magnets are better than Ceramic magnets but cost more and can be hard to find.

I would go with TC Sounds subs if possible. They make some of the best subs around. There prices are very fair too. They make private label subs for many of the brands you find on the market.

As for amps, if you want big, you can't beat the JBL "Crown" series. There huge and expensive.

There's more out there and everyone has preferences...what sounds good to you is what counts.

there really isnt a "best" audio brand. there is some really awesome stuff out there, but the best is objective. if you want top of the line stuff though, i'd check out these brands.

Amps: McIntosh, Audison

Subs: Pioneer Premier, Image Dynamics, RE Audio, Boston Acoustics, Diamond Audio
