Like the FAA, FTC, USDA, SEC, etc. in the USA? Shouldn't there be regulatory bodies to regulate religions and protect citizens from religious abuses?

As in doctrine? People make up their own doctrines and will continue to do so no matter what some commitee has to say about it.

Ex: Vatican says evolution theory is ok. Fundies still think it is a deception of the Devil. Case in point.

the government that we live under in america was created for religious freedom. And now people instead of freedom of religion, which leads to, freedom of speech, press, and all the wonderful liberties we enjoy--you want to oppress the very foundation of the country you take so much pride in... Hypocrite

friend, a whole bunch of people who believe in "less government" would be whopping mad. first amendment protection groups would be howling.

what do you mean: "religious abuses"? If something criminal is done in a church now, the government already has the right and duty to step in.

what, you want big brother to be involved in everything???
