I am curious what people mean when they say "Oh, my blood sugar level is low. I must eat."

Does this mean that they need sugar? Does your body need to have sugar? I thought sugar was not really good for you?

For the non diabetic, the body will adjust and raise a low blood sugar level whether they eat or not. In a diabetic the person will need to eat some carbs to raise the level because the body system is not working properly (use of insulin, but you said simple!).
The body makes sugar from carbs, so you dont need to eat sugary foods.

Yes your body does need sugar. It is an instant energy needed for normal function.
It is not good for your sugar level in the blood to be too high or too low. Both of these things can lead to unconsiousness, but usually you only need to worry about this if you suffer from diabetes or hypoglycaemia.
When your 'sugar is low' you generally feel tired, a bit dizzy and weak, and yes, eating something will boost the level and make you feel better.
You can measure how much sugar is in your blood with a simple pin prick to get a drop of blood and use a little machine called a glucometer. This machine gives you a number which is your 'blood sugar level'.
The pancreas is the organ in your body which produces a hormone called insulin. Insulin controls the level of sugar in your blood. When your pancreas doesn't regulate your insulin properly this is what leads to diabetes.

The body needs a certain amount of sugar--or glucose--for energy. The pancreas produces and controls glucose levels in the blood by releasing the correct amount of insulin the cells need to turn glucose into energy.

A person who says their blood sugar is low and they must eat is getting a cue from their body that their glucose level is low and they must increase it by eating.

Diabetes have trouble metabolizing sugar. Some people are hypo which means low and some are high which means they have to control their diet as well. People without either can eat what they want, but, shunning lots of sugar is not a bad idea at all.

I got tested for my sugar levels recently.
Basically your body produces insulin, which is the body's form of sugar, and sometimes the body either makes too much of it or too less, which causes diabetes. They then need to make up for their body's missing sugar.

When people say 'i need sugar'. Sugar gives you energy and this is the quickest form of getting energy. Its a good boost.

You should not have eat too much sugar , as your body produces it. So you need balanced diet, to stop energy levels from going.

Hope this helps lol!

It's the amount of glucose in your body which is responsible for pretty much every process that is taking place in your body at all times. People have to eat when their sugar is low so that their body functions properly. I suggest that you look up Diabetes on google and read up on it.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Actually your body turns every thing into sugar basically, it's the fuel we run off of.
When you eat a Snickers you get a burst of energy but this is not sustaining energy then your body starts dumping the stuff and you experience a low, sluggish time shortly after the initial burst

"Blood sugar" usually refers to the amount of glucose (a simple sugar) in your blood at a given time. The tissues of your body, particularly the brain, are fueled by this glucose, which they pull out of the blood and break down for energy as required. The liver is responsible for adding more glucose to the blood when it is too low. Too much sugar is not good for you, but glucose in the blood is absolutely necessary for survival.

Huggz: that's about as far from correct as possible. Diabetics lack sufficient insulin (or have tissues that don't respond to insulin); insulin is required for muscle and fat tissues to pull glucose out of the blood. The result is very elevated blood sugar, even when not eating. This is due to the lack of glucose pulled in by peripheral tissues and unopposed action of glucagon stimulating the liver to pump out additional glucose.

Lou: the "body's version of sugar" is not insulin. Insulin is a protein hormone required for major glucose-utilizing tissues to pull that glucose out of the blood, as mentioned above.
