I wouldn't give Jr majority... he's not the only son. He just happen to be more lucky than the others. I would give 18-20% to each kid or better yet offer them to buy in. There's a reason why Dale had it that way in his will.

The company was built for Jr and the other kids. I can see where Teresa would have a problem giving up the power but if I were Jr I would either take the 50% or leave...Teresa would be in control of a company that would be a "what was" instead of a company with a future.

It's easier said than done. Giving up a company isn't that easy.
And for that first response, if Jr. gets a majority of the company, which is more than 50%, then technically Teresa Earnhardt gives up ownership.
I don't know very much about this situation, but I wouldn't give it up without a price, at least not now.

Tough to say but hey dei was built from the ground up for his kids

What is The big Deal it would be going to his son It's not like it would be going to an outsider.

Now if an outsider was doing what dale is doing then yes i could see that but it's not it's dales son

I say come on what's the harm he does everything that can for the family and the charites HIS FATHER started and HE's Keeping them up

What is she afraid of and come on he's offering to compensate her Could be a little greed on teresa's part cause obviously she knew that it was going to his kids Good god. I personally think it's about the money for her now For a man she loves this is a disgrace honor his wishes.

Dale Ernhardt Sr. Would Prolly Roll over in his grave if he knew what was going on,

I think Dale Jr. Deserves to be there Hey He's Dale's Son and it was built for him and his sister I say he just keep up and don't give up.

Teresa needs to back off him and realize there's more to life than money

First of all, I am all for Jr. getting some ownership of DEI. I am a huge DEI and Dale and Dale Jr. fan. However, for Jr. to up and say he wants 51% is a wee bit on the not realistic side. When I first read it, my first thought was well, guess Jr. won't be with DEI next year. Let us not forget that if Dale did intend that Dale Jr. and the kids inherit DEI, he could have set up just that way. Enough said, case closed. Sr. did not leave it to the kids. I am guessing because he didn't feel they were ready. Either way, he didn't. I would love to see Jr. with some ownership of DEI, when he is ready for it and right now I don't think he is. Sr. didn't set it up like that and I trust his judgement.

I am right there with you MIDNIGHT. I think she should give it up. If not now she will have to eventually. Like someone else said. She's NOT getting any younger. SR. would be ashamed of how she's acting. His kids are high priority and that was built for them and jr is a earnhardt and i think he should have ownership.

this is what step parents will do....

No I wouldn't give the company away but I would also recognize Dale Jr and his right to an equal share of the company. He is the most popular driver three years in a row. Anyone would love to have him but his heart is in his fathers company so he belongs there.

Thats a tough one....but I firmly believe from what I've read Dale Senior fully intended Dale Jr to inherit DEI someday and it would be wrong to deny him that wish. Afterall, it wouldn't be right for a DEI without an Earnhardt driving. Hopefully, they can resolve this thing and I believe they will.....

I can see your point, but the company was built for Dale Jr, and the rest of the kids for when he died. Teressa isn't getting any younger, and yeah she's been around racing for long time, she can't give the input like Jr can when/if he takes over. Is a lose/lose no matter which way you look at it.
