I want to buy a car but have limited funds. I have heard that you can get cars for cheep at repo or police actions. Does anyone know where I can find info about these?

If you have limited funds and buy a cheap car you best be a good mechanic. Unless you are very lucky you could spend more money on the vehicle Than the car is worth. However, if you still want to do then check with your local police dept. and highway patrol they should be able to help you. Also check with your local towing companies as they impound cars and often have vehicles to sell. sometime you can get a good used vehicle through Hertz, Avis or other rental car agencies when they have auctions.

How limited are your funds? Are we talking less than $1000?
Auctions are almost always crowded, you don't get to test drive the car, you have to pay auction fees etc. That said, some have got good deals from these auctions. You should call you locat police traffic department. They may have info for you. These days, police auctions are not as simple as they used to be. Everybody is trying to make money now...

I would call the auction that you purchased it at, or the Police Department that the police report was filled out from, just to be safe, but I'm guess as long as you are not giving any personal information it should be ok.
