I love dale jr. to death go #8. But he's being a greedy selfish bastard. He has a older half brother, a older sister, and a younger half sister. His but don't deserve more than 51% he's no greater than his siblings. He should settle with what he has and be a man and deal with it. We all know he's going to get the #3 car someday.

I don't think he's being selfish. I think it's a negotiating strategy.
I honestly think it will end something like this:
1. He says he wants 51% (already happened)
2. Company offers 25%
3. He says 35% now and option to purchase 16% in 5 years
4. Company offers 25% now and option to purchase 15% in 10 years
5. He says 16% now and option to purchase 5% each year for next 7 years.
DEAL!
The numbers are most likely wrong, but you get the picture. If you want $5000 for a car you ask for $7500. This is a contract NEGOTIATION. He's just shooting high right now as he should. I don't think he needs to own 51% now, but he should have a clear idea of what he will have and a timeline for it to happen.

Thats a mixed bag question. If not for little dale, his step momma would not be hauling in the cash. If not for his Daddy, there would not be a DEI. Dale Jr. is the company and I am not one of his fans. But the fact is, he makes DEI what it is. Shame that Dale Sr. was too busy to sit down and write his last wishs with all his kids in mind. Anyway, I think that if little dale don't get what he wants, he has the backing ( BUD ) to start his own cup team and I think he would be much better off that way. Earnhart Junior Racing Inc. Thats sounds good.

I dont think he is being selfish because if he gets the majority of it we know he will share it with his sister kelly who runs everything for him....and theresa will leave the rest of it to the other daughter when she passes. That company was built for dale sr.'s kids..especially Jr.. It's not like he is just asking for the majority of the company he is hoping for at least the opprotunity to buy the company...

Sr was building that company for his children. Kelly has stack in it already and Kerry he doesn't want in it. His little sister is still to young to really care. If you remember, Sr didn't even drive for DEI. Jr deserves that company and Teresa should rightfully give Jr what he deserves and that is his share in the company. I don't think he is talking about running her out he just wants what is rightfully his.

First of all, I am all for Jr. getting some ownership of DEI. I am a huge DEI and Dale and Dale Jr. fan. However, for Jr. to up and say he wants 51% is a wee bit on the not realistic side. When I first read it, my first thought was well, guess Jr. won't be with DEI next year. Let us not forget that if Dale did intend that Dale Jr. and the kids inherit DEI, he could have set up just that way. Enough said, case closed. Sr. did not leave it to the kids. I am guessing because he didn't feel they were ready. Either way, he didn't. I would love to see Jr. with some ownership of DEI, when he is ready for it and right now I don't think he is. Sr. didn't set it up like that and I trust his judgement.

Honestly I dont think his step mom has any right to have majority ownership in the company. The company was set up for his kids, not for his widow but for his kids. I hope he leaves the company and stands back to watch it fail, because if he leaves and its looking like he will DEI will be no more, the guy is half the company anyways what will they do once they cant sell his stuff. Go under is what they will do.
