well not the entire great wall, but a portion; anyway, we are using frosting to hold the sugar cubes together... and it looks great, but he says it's not realistic, and wants to change the color... can spray paint be used to create a darker effect? Anyone tried something else....?

I think grey/silver spray paint would be great. And then use a paper towel to dabble it while wet or with another color.

Check the effect of spray paint on a cube that is not part of your wall first in case it "melts" if partially, I dont think it will.

What a great idea! I've seen the things in science books to create igloos out of sugar cubes; I never thought to think beyond that.

I have no idea what would work okay on sugar cubes... Spray paint might work... Acrylic craft paints might work, too.

What is wrong with spray painting sugar cubes if the student is interested? It is perfectly fine to spray paint sugar cubes. ( I think that paint & paintbrush would be more realistic and efficient though.)

nicely, we had an identical difficulty yet as a substitute of spray paint he used an everlasting marker (a sort of extensive everlasting markers no longer the small tipped ones) on his grandfathers white truck and likewise on their storage doors that have been replaced each week formerly by means of fact of hurricane harm from hurricane Ivan. He became approximately 5 years previous then and have been given a spanking and had to help sparkling each little bit of it off (which he thought that became the worst punishment ever).

Why not use a sponge and sponge on food coloring? If you mixed it with some water in a shallow plate and rub it on gently or dab. As well, some craft shops have a food sprayer, or you could talk to a local cake decorating place. our local albertsons let us take stuff there to be 'painted' with their picture sprayer. it was a cool field trip and we had fun. Also educational when you think about the kids calling and seeing who would let us do that.

spray paint is ok, just make sure you paint first with primer gray and then choose the color. that way, your wall will look better and you wont waste that much paint. Good luck!

Spray-paint is fine to use, but way to waste sugar on creating something pointless. The very least you could have done was create something edible. If I had a nickel for every wasteful effort someone committed to...
