My female cat does it also. PS. they are siblings-brother + sister.
They are fixed.

Our Siamese does this, she has been fixed. She is purring when we scratch and she gnaws, so we know that she does like it. She will even put her back to us for us to scratch. It is there way of showing love, it is how they mate. The one will bite and hold down the other cat, so they are reenacting the mating ritual.

?? Its strange. My cats do similar weird things when I scratch them: some will chatter their teeth, others will lick uncontrollably, others move in funny ways. Just different reactions to a good feeling--like when you rub a dog's stomach and it kicks its back leg!
