Do you like it for the calm, strength, love, and knowledge that it gives you or are you only atheist to spite the theists out of hate?

You either like it or you don't. You know that alternatives exist and yet you haven't chosen them. Why? Truth? Why do you like truth?

Again, why do you like Truth? It is a very simple question I think.

I neither like nor dislike atheism - I simply do not wish to worship a God when I do not believe in one. I happen to like the idea that there is a God but I do not see any reason I should believe that Gods are anything more than wishful thinking. I don't care what anyone else believes that's their business - I'm just honest with myself and I know that I don't really believe in a God any more than I believe in the Easter Bunny or Father Christmas or the Great Pumpkin.
To me there is just no getting away from the reality I see; For you or others like you - there is another way of seeing the world that I cannot experience. I think that it is just something that some people don't get and I'm one of those.

I believe too strongly in morality and the value of life to be religious. Statistically atheists are the most moral group... I find truth enlightening, and knowledge an inspiration opening up constant new avenues of possibility.
Truth is better than myth and fantasy, especially when those bronze age myths are the cause for most of the world's violence, hatred, discrimination, etc...
Plus we recognize how improbable and amazing this life actually is. We live fully because we know this is it. Religious on the other hand seem to see life as something to "endure" until the next life.

I don't like being atheist, though i am. I simply think that a 2000 year old book and a man surviving Crucifixion is a little far-fetched. Many people turn to religion in times of need even if they are not religious, and if all go's well they can't accept coinsedence. So there must be a god.... but theres not.
Makes good TV though Bruce almighty, lol, Simpson's- Cornall's chicken, have fun praying, all the best!

I am an atheist because I have a sense of rationality about the world. It's not a choice for me. I just cannot believe in God, the flying spaghetti monstor, or santa claus because they make no rational sense in my world.
Atheism doesn't provide knowledge... it's the result of critical thinking (not knowledge). It does't provide strength- but it allows you to realize that you are in control of your own life- rather than surrendering your future to some supreme diety. As for 'calm'- not really sure how that fits in to religion.

I wouldn't say it gives you calm, strength or love anymore than knowing any other fact.
Do you only listen to news that makes you feel better or are you interested in the truth?
Some people have integrity and intellectual honesty, they have little choice but to be atheist if they put the pieces together.

Seriously? What the hell kind of question is that? Living in this wonderful land called the United States, we are free to believe what ever we want to believe, not out of hate, just because we can. Ah, the glory of freedom. Why would it have to be out of hate? If I choose to believe that people evolved from a little bity piece of booger like substance, that is my choice to do so, with out hatred to anyone. Gosh.

I don't expect you to believe this, but it does give me calm, strength, love, and knowledge, because it frees me to believe in something much greater than a deity could ever be.

Neither, I'm an atheist because there is no proof for there being a god or gods.
I don't bash anyone, well I try not to, some people invite it though.

Calm, strength, love and knowledge? Humbug!
It isn't hate that causes me to mock fundies - just sadism.

They are only Atheist because either something happened to them in their lives to turn on God, (e.g. maybe they said prayer and it never came true, had a bad childhood where they thought God should've intervened, etc...) and feel as though God will serve them no purpose whatsoever. I used to feel this way, but found the Lord and my life has so much more meaning now, and I am more happier than I have ever been. But I do empathize with Atheists, because I've been there, done that.
