I have three kids and thought that I couldn't wait until they went to school so that I may enjoy a few moments of silence. Now that they are almost grown, with one living 70 miles away, I find my house to be too quiet, the silence deafening.
The glorious cacophony of childhood means so much more to me than the lonely silence that surrounds me now.

It depends on the person..
I can't be with people for a long time, and also can't be alone for a long time.
I believe silence is necessery for everyone who needs too relax from a hard day at work, or to gather new energies.
For me, it is *The blessed silence*.. =)

I really enjoy silence. It seems odd to me the way so many people need to have so many sounds around them all the time. Radios, TVs, the constant chattering of their own voices..... I love silence, it allows me to find a place within myself where I can actually disengage from the inner dialogue and experience peace.

EXTREMELY! I friggin' hate noise. Makes me tense. When I'm home alone I like to turn everything off....no background tv noise, no music, nothing.
