I bought a car from a woman in another city. She gave me the title with her signature and I signed as well but it is not notorized. Will she need to be present for me to get this notorized at the DMV?

The notary is nortorizing the signature of the seller in which the notary needs to see it being signed over to you. What state are you from because you may not need it notorized even if their is a notary area.? Kansas has a notary area but it no longer needs to be notorized anymore. This is 1 example.

It depends on the state where you live. Call your county (registrar, treasurer, dmv..whatever they call it there), and find out. Most counties have that info posted on the net as well these days.

In Kansas, a notarization is not necessary. The only thing that ever has to be notarized in KS pertaining to a title is the lien release (either on the front of the title, or on the separate lien release document).

In California no notarization is required. Your state may be different but you did not include that information.

Soooo.... simply call your local DMV if you live in one of the other 49 states.

All you need is the title owners signature. You have that so, you should be good to go. No Notary is necessary.
