I agree i think people that aren't married that have kids and single woman that get pregnant should get a paternity test done before child support is granted.

Wow are you bitter? Unless you sign paternity papers a DNA will have to be done in order for her to seek child support. My nephew signed papers for his former gf's baby assuming the baby was his turned out it wasnt after 2 yrs of legal battles and him paying 500 a month child support to a girl who hasnt worked a day in her life and lives off the system. And even now they are still in court because the judge wants to know why the papers were signed if there was a question of paternity since states will not release a "father" from support responsibilities because then the state would have to pay for the child. And if you want this done are you willing to pay the 200-1000 dollars per child to have this test done and a parent can NOT be forced except through court order to have a test done on a child to determine DNA
Next time wear a damn condom!

Because not every woman is a ho' and they know who they slept with and got them pregnant.
It is a legit question because we see the prime examples of Anna Nicole Smith and the Maury Povich show.
Those are the exceptions not the rule. There are men out there who know they got women pregnant and use the dodge about them sleeping around to not take responsibility. It will be demeaning to women that they have to prove who their child's father is. How would that be enforced? Would it apply to married women as well? Who is going to pay for the test?
If there is any question, a man can go to court and request a DNA test. This is the process now and it works. If a man does not want to have a child, then he needs to wear a condom, wrap it up.

what if you are married and there is no descrepancy between the 2 parties? not everyone has a baby out of wedlock and are trying to get child support. The father can have a paternity test if he wants anyway. ARe you going to pay for everyone to get a test done? ok, then. hush.

usually the father who is being asked to give child support can have a paternity test taken if he wants. He doesn't have to pay until that test is taken and if it's positive, then he owes back pay for as long as it took.

I'm not saying that I don't agree with what you are saying but why do "fathers" sign voluntary paternity forms without having a test done?
If they had any doubt about it they should request one. hmmm.......$60 vs. paying a lifetime of support to a child that isn't yours. That's a no brainer.

It sounds like a great idea for the people who want it, but I've never cheated on my husband and getting one when our children was born would be wrong and then my husband would think that there wouild have been a possibility that our children might not be his. So, it's 50 50 it should be allowed for the people who want it not just for everyone, Maury would go out of business!

guess what if you aren't married then their has to be a paternity test unless the man admits that he is the father before child support is established.

thats a good ? i think so to if the parents are not together than the dna test should be done and is spose to be done to establish the correct father for support orders but the father can always contest and have a test done if they order support without a test for the truth

Because what's good for some isn't good for all.
I think my husband would have been really annoyed if he had to wait through a paternity test to claim his son as his own.
