Man, creationists must be SOOOOO dumb. Everything seems to be considered in big hunks, like one day there were no monkeys, then BAM - evolution happens and the next day monkeys appear. How else could they ask totally ignorant questions about the "first" monkey?
Get this through your heads: evolution happens over a looooonnnnggg period of time - hundreds of thousands or millions of years (yes, the planet is older than 6000 years). Over that time all of the structures, like belly buttons, develop, change and EVOLVE as needed to keep species viable. There is no "first" anything.

* sighs and rolls eyes*
obviously, proto- monkey and ancestors had one as well as most mammals have an umbilical cord... no, there is no "first" monkey because there was no "poof, there's a monkey" moment like strict creationists believe. For Creationists, I am not sure what they would answer. I guess you could ask that question next??
Technically, unless you are a troll and are just trying to stir the pot here, (I suppose you are whistling and looking away right now?) this question belongs in the zoology section. Though they do have their share of this stuff there as well!
PLEASE! try to get the basics of the theory of evolution... here is a good link...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Introduction_to_evolution
anyone in the zoology section will be happy to answer your real questions about the concept.

George Bush, Sr. and Barbara Bush made the monkey. His call replaced into George. He replaced into the info that evolution had someway ceased to adapt for some if not for others. He had neither a abdomen button nor a pair of balls nor a concepts or soul. the girl monkey replaced into made via an spectacular explosion of urine in the air while the George downed one too many Jack Daniels and it blended with the cocaine he replaced into copiously snorting. those 2 pressed at the same time and created others like themselves and desperate to sort a "government' via punching their chests and grunting. The Bible? It that what you advise via back then? Oh... it quite is a narrative with not almost as lots bloodshed and corruption as this one, and subsequently is deemed fiction. purely in actual existence can women and adult males persons be so ignorant as to have confidence in evolution or creationism. we are all descendants of the bushmen.

Like, one day there was nothing and then *pop* a monkey suddenly appeared on the planet? Did that have a belly button? That's not evolution, so I'm not sure why you're asking evolutionists.
das21212 - "outie" belly buttons don't result from a doctor not cutting the unbilical cord.

My question, how is a receding hairline evolutionarily significant?
On another note...to all the know-it-alls who said that all mammals have a belly button....WRONG.
Only placental mammals have belly buttons since their nutrients are gained by an umbilical cord in-utero. Mammals are given the distinction due to the presence of mammary-glands, not their reproduction or gestation type. Some mammals even LAY EGGS!

No... it had a belly zipper.
Ok, ok, only kidding. What do you mean by "the first monkey"? The first one to evolve? You think we know which one that is?

Belly buttons are reminants of attachment to a placenta. All mammals have them and no doubt the mother of and the first monkey did as well.
How you survive without a brain is a mystery to me.

there was a playboy model centerfold many years ago, who was so airbrushed, that the photo was printed of her without a belly button.
Funny story- which is only loosely related to the monkey question. Which makes no sense as there is no 'first' anything in evolution.

Of course it did... damn you people are so dumb. You think evolution claims we had a common ancestor with monkeys but they themselves were created by God?
How did the education system fail you so terribly?
