Not really a smart thing to do, since you can never be sure who REALLY is at the other end of the keyboard or how honest they are. Even face to face that is tough, but at least there you can SEE the person and read body language and know their true sex, approximate age, etc.

yes and no. You can fall in love with a persona, but you can't really get to know somebody on msn. The fact that you can't see their expressions, or judge how they're saying something goes a long way. the internet make people brave, because they can get away with things they never would in real life. You can never be sure if who your talking to is the real person. they might say they're a 19 your old man, but really be a pair of nersing home women who just figured out how to use the computer. The only way to really get to know a person is by seeing their face when they talk to you, or hearing their voice, watching their body language.
Sometimes online relationships can lead to a realationship but you can never really see how far it will go until you've spent time with them in person.

You can, I fell in love with someone off myspace. In todays culture I learned that meeting someone off line is just as "foolhardy" as meeting someone online. You don't get to know the person you met at a bar, they are looking for primarily one thing to get some. Meeting someone online you can learn what the person is really like and connect with them on another level. If you think he is the one then go for it. But meet him before you make any definite decisions.

No. You can fall in love with the person you think they are, but you will never know them until you get involved in a "real-life" relationship.

No, just imagine some fat, sweaty trucker hunched over a laptop getting his jolly's. That's what you met on MSN.
